Olanrewaju Olaniyan is the Coordinator, Development Practice Programme and Sub-Dean. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Ibadan where he teaches Economics of Human Resources and Macroeconomics. He graduated with First Class Honours in Educational Management before obtaining M.Sc. and PhD in Economics from the University of Ibadan. His research interests include Economics of Education, Poverty and Inequality, Social Protection and Health Economics. He has experience in social policy work in developing countries for more than 15 years during which he has been able to interact and work with senior-level technocrats and officials. He led the team that prepared the Social Protection Policy note for Nigeria in 2005 and was also part of the team that prepared the National Health Accounts of Nigeria 2003-2005. He has at various times been visiting fellow at Cornell Food and Nutrition Policy Programme, Cornell University and Centre for the Study of African Economies, University of Oxford, United Kingdom
