Olawale Emmanuel Olayide

Olawale Emmanuel Olayide is a Research Fellow and Coordinator of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Programme. He holds a PhD degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He has participated in several post-doctoral courses on environment and natural resources, including Agri-Green Management: Agri-Environmental Considerations under Climatic Changes held at theUniversity, Jerusalem, Israel in May, 2013 (four weeks), and Assessing Crop Production, Nutrient Management, Climatic Risk and Environmental Sustainability with Simulation Models held at the IFPRI office in Dakar, Senegal in April, 2014 (two weeks). He is a Green+ member of the International Sustainable Development Research Society (ISDRS). He also chairs track sessions on Sustainable Agriculture and Food Production, and Engagement Group on Africaunder the ISDSRS. He is also a member of the track on Industrial Ecology of the ISDRS. He is a co-chair of the technical session on Good Governance of Extractive and Land Resources for theInternational Conference on Sustainable Development Practice (ICSDP). He has previously served as Research Fellow with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA-Ibadan) from 2004 to 2006, and Consultant to the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), 2009-2010. He has expertise in agricultural production and food security, sustainable rural development, climate change and environmental studies, welfare analysis, governance and gender issues, resource economics, industrial ecology, macroeconomic modeling, impact assessment, poverty analysis, value chain analysis, product development and marketing of agricultural commodities, including underutilized crop species. Dr Olayide has participated in many local and international workshops and conferences including those organized by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Washington State University, German Agency for Technical Co-operation (GTZ), International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), The World Bank, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Wageningen University and Research (WUR), Netherlands, Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel (HUJI), National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER), and the Pan-African University (PAU). He is a member of many professional and academic associations, including the International Sustainable Development Research Society (ISDRS), African Growth and Development Policy (AGRODEP) Modeling Consortium, African Sustainable Development Network (ASUDNET), and Nigeria Sustainable Development Solutions Network (NSDSN). Dr Olayide is a member of the Editorial Team of the African Journal of Sustainable Development (http://www.ajol.info/index.php/ajsd). Olawale possesses demonstrable competencies in research management and leadership, research methods, meta-data analysis, database management, econometrics analysis, and use of software packages like MS EXCEL, SPSS, DAD, LIMDEP, STATA, E-VIEWS, GAMS, DSSAT, and ArcGIS. Dr Olayide has over 30 publications to his credit. He is well published in local and international peer-reviewed journals.
